Fleur Restaurant, Brooklyn, NY
SAI Engineers partnered with QWA Architects to transform this shell space into a restaurant featuring modern architectural elements and inviting seating areas. Fleur offers authentic Shanghainese cuisine inspired by early 20th-century China.
SAI designed a completely new mechanical system for the kitchen, including a kitchen exhaust and makeup air system integrated with a control system to effectively remove cooking smoke and supply fresh air, maintaining optimal indoor air quality. The dining area is served by a high-efficiency heat pump system with dedicated controls for comfort.
The plumbing system includes a natural gas water heater to meet hot water demands and a grease trap to handle grease separation in the wastewater system. On the electrical side, we provided new lighting and power plans, as well as a fire alarm system — all crafted to align with the client’s aesthetic vision while ensuring full code compliance.
